Situated only 10 minutes walk from the sandy beach at Instow makes it an ideal holiday location. Lots to see and do nearby with Tapeley House and Gardens being 5 minutes drive away. Other attractions include: The Big Sheep The Milky Way both offer indoor and outdoor activities and events for all the family. The golden sands at Westward Ho! are popular with beach lovers and offer excellent opportunities for surfing and body boarding. Instow has a selection of small shops an excellent mini-supermarket superb riverfront hotel and a selection of restaurants and pubs all of which offer food. Wander along the promenade and enjoy a locally made Hockings ice cream sit amongst the sand dunes and watch the sailing boats bobbing up and down or have a go at a variety of water sports which can be organised on the beach. Across the estuary is the small fishing village of Appledore which has a history of seafarers and ship building and is worth a trip across the water. If this sounds too energetic sit and relax in the conservatory overlooking open countryside or enjoy a BBQ or drinks on the patio. The bungalow offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double (with room for the travel cot) and 1 twin room. Bathroom: separate bath with shower over and small washbasin. Separate WC with washbasin. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with leather sofas TV DVD hi-fi and french doors to a conservatory with views over the patio area and lawns. Well-equipped kitchen area with electric oven/hob and hood dishwasher and microwave. Utility room: with fridge/freezer and metered washing machine and tumble dryer. Further door leading to patio area. Outside: the shared garden is mainly lawn but not enclosed. Amenities: ample parking and a gently sloped access path making it ideal for those with walking difficulties. Bed linen towels electric and central heating included from April until September. 30 heating surcharge from October until April payable to owner on arrival. Regret no pets. Location: beach shops pubs and restaurants all 10 - 15 minutes walk or less than 5 minutes drive. Instow is a small town in Devon, England. It is located on the estuary of the rivers Torridge and Taw and faces Appledore across the river. It is within a few miles of Northam, Bideford, Horwood, and Westward Ho! and is one of over 300 towns and villages in Devon in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest official cities are Plymouth (population 243,795), Exeter (population 106,772), and Truro (which has a population of 20,920 according to the 2001 Census).
Instow has a sandy beach along the riverbank and with its location close to many other excellent beaches and towns in north Devon it represents an excellent choice to base a holiday in this part of the West Country.
